HSPiP: How to Buy?

HSPiP: Buying Hansen Solubility Parameters in Practice

The software is designed only for Microsoft Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. The package does not work under Linux or on the Mac (except under Windows emulation mode).

The installation and running are designed to be as easy as possible. For personal users, there should be few issues. However, corporate IT policies may pose some problems. If you are installing on your own PC with Admin rights you can skip most of the following few paragraphs. Otherwise, show this webpage to your corporate IT experts if you or they have any doubt. It will all make sense to them!

First, download HSPiPInstall which is a Microsoft .msi installer file. HSPiPInstall.msi

Some companies place restrictions on downloading files which install software so you may have to consult your IT department. To install it requires Administrator privileges which again might require IT help. It requires the Microsoft DotNet Framework 3.5 (Microsoft’s standard for modern programming) which is already installed on most modern PCs. If you don’t already have the DotNet Framework, the installer will automatically redirect you to the Microsoft site where you can obtain a free download, but again this might require your IT help.

Note that the installation places files only in its own folder. All Settings and Data files are saved to your My Documents/HSPiP Data. This allows users to access these key datafiles without the the problems of access rights or unhiding folder.

Once it’s installed, you need to purchase a license to run it.

By clicking on the link below you go to the secure server of the highly regarded SWReg e-commerce site where you can buy the license for $840 using your favourite credit/debit cards. If you choose to buy more than one copy the price per copy is automatically reduced. 2-5 copies are $740 each, 6 or more copies are $680 each. For a Network version, see below.

Purchase Hansen Solubility Parameters in Practice

Upon completion of the purchase you are emailed a temporary license file which runs for 5 days. This gets you up and running within a few minutes of making your purchase. Before that temporary key expires we will email you your personal License Key based on the email address which you provided during the purchase. If you have ordered multiple copies, we will send you that number of license keys.

You are entitled to free upgrades to the package (within the current 3.x version and to the next major 4.x release). Just check the website from time to time and download the latest version or we will email you with update information. This policy of free upgrades with no maintenance/renewal fees ensures that your up-front investment in the purchase continues to provide future value.

Note that we don’t ask for any of your personal details and your email address is only used to ensure that we are sending out License Files to genuine customers. We never give email addresses to 3rd parties and we will not email you unless you email us.

Network version

For those who want HSPiP to run on a network please email us at support@hansen-solubility.com. As with all things to do with networks there are a number of issues that have to be resolved with your network manager to ensure smooth operation so the network version is only available by special request.

Known software issues

On some PCs the tables containing the key information look rather unhappy and the checkboxes in the Optimizer are not visible. This is caused by some "hardware acceleration" settings in certain graphics card drivers. By reducing the acceleration to 50% or less everything works well. The tables/checkboxes are standard Microsoft components so the issue is not under our software control.
